Poderi Boscarelli has a rich history that began in 1962 when founder Egidio Corradi had a dream to produce a noble wine that showcased the aromas and flavors of his native land. Born into a family in the Montepulciano region of the Siena countryside, Egidio later pursued a career as an international broker in Genoa and Milan while maintaining his passion for wine.

However, Egidio’s love for wine and deep knowledge of his home region led him to purchase two semi-abandoned small farms in Cervognano of Montepulciano, a beautiful area in old Etruscan Tuscany. These ancient soils had previously been cultivated traditionally with various crops and small vineyards.

Egidio’s daughter, Paola, and her husband, Ippolito De Ferrari, joined in his dream, and together they established Poderi Boscarelli in the 1960s. They brought new life to the estate by planting specialized vineyards at a density of 3,500 plants per hectare and renovating old stables to create the first winery.

The next generation of the family, Luca and Nicolò De Ferrari, now carry on the legacy of Poderi Boscarelli. With a deep passion for wine production, they work to capture the scents and flavors that their grandfather, Egidio, loved. They continue to reselect and replant vineyards to showcase the unique characteristics of the land.

Since the late 1980s, Poderi Boscarelli has focused primarily on producing Vino Nobile DOCG, which constitutes 80% of their products. This label represents their oldest and most important wine, and they produce different types based on grape age and selection. Overall, Poderi Boscarelli produces around 100,000 bottles.

Poderi Boscarelli invites visitors to experience their small family business in the beautiful countryside of Montepulciano. Guided tours, wine tastings, and cellar visits are available, providing an opportunity to learn about the history and region.
